The BACB requires providers to monitor attendance and participation for the entire event. For self-paced events, its handbook gives knowledge questions and other active-response activities as examples of participation measures. Follow the participation instructions and complete the required checks and assessment for your selected training. Earning CE depends on the session requirements and your credential; buying access alone does not establish earned credit.
Check the current product page and each session’s credit listing for your BACB or QABA credential before choosing training. Follow the applicable eligibility, completion and certificate conditions. Our BACB ACE Provider number, OP-14-2437, identifies BACB provider authorization; it is not blanket evidence of which credits a specific session offers.

Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) must complete 32 continuing education units (CEUs) within each 2-year recertification period to maintain certification.
BACB ACE Provider continuing education courses in areas such as behavior analysis, ethics, research methods, client assessment, treatment planning, and professional development count toward CEU requirements.
Check the current credit listing, your credential and already-completed titles before counting any session toward recertification.
A BCBA needs 32 CEUs per two-year cycle, including 4 Ethics CEUs. Under the current handbook, the supervision minimum is 3 CEUs if the supervision requirement applies. The BACB’s 2027 requirements, effective January 1, 2027, raise that minimum to 4. Its March 2022 announcement applied the new requirements to BCBAs recertifying on or after that date; the BACB notes that some newsletter details have since changed. Check your recertification date and supervision history.
After completing courses from a BACB ACE Provider, log into your BACB account to report your continuing education units during the recertification period. Special Learning provides completion documentation to support your BACB submission.
BCBA certification cannot be renewed without completing all 32 required CEUs. Failure to meet this requirement will result in an inactive certification status.
No, clinical experience hours do not substitute for CEU requirements. The BACB accepts continuing education from several pathways, including ACE Provider events, qualifying graduate-level behavior-analytic coursework, and certain BACB activities.
