Special Learning, Inc. Names Dan Gorsky as Chief Operating Officer


CHICAGO, IL - August 1, 2016 - Special Learning, Inc. announced today that Dan Gorsky has been named chief operating officer in order to achieve both short and long-term objectives for the company. 
Mr. Gorsky will work closely with the Founder and CEO to maintain operational responsibility for the entire organization and his duties will include aligning and executing the vision, mission, strategy and tactical implementation of Special Learning’s Strategic Plan.  Mr. Gorksy will also collaborate in partnership with cross-functional department heads and external leaders to achieve the company’s growth and profit objectives.

Mr. Gorsky’s previous experience includes just over nineteen years at McDonald’s Corporation where his last position was senior vice president of the North American Supply Chain, managing a diverse $12 billion spend and corresponding vast supplier network.  Just prior to starting at Special Learning, Mr. Gorsky took the opportunity to find a way to give back, embarking on a two-year teaching assignment in which he taught and facilitated an Entrepreneurial Leadership class at his alma mater high school.  In this class student teams were formed and led through a rigorous year-long curriculum to start a viable business to solve a problem or innovate upon something already in the market, culminating in a competitive Pitch Night competition.
Mr. Gorsky holds a BA in Business-Economics from Benedictine University and completed coursework at Loyola University’s Graduate School of Education.
