Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 23, 2013

Special Learning, Inc., a leading global provider of comprehensive solutions and educational resources for the autism, Down syndrome and special needs community, announced today that it is opening its first global autism treatment center and Special Education (SPED) Program in the Philippines in August. This new world-class program is the first of its kind, bringing the best of Western evidence-based practices to treat and deliver exceptional education outcomes to individuals with autism, Down syndrome, and other behavioral disabilities throughout Metro Manila and its surrounding cities.

ABA Special Learning USA, a subsidiary of Special Learning, Inc., is establishing a premiere Special Education (SPED) Program for preschool age children at Fort Bonifacio, located in the heart of Metro Manila among the country’s most renowned international schools. Founded on the principles and procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the SPED program focuses on helping children with special needs to develop the necessary skills that will allow them to achieve greater academic success and improve independence with the ultimate goal of successfully integrating students back into a mainstream educational environment. The SPED Program provides specialized academic instruction and behavior intervention for children with special needs year round. The program offers open enrollment and specialized summer programming, including summer school and enrichment programs. The school caters to preschool age children and offers instruction on several different academic levels: toddler, nursery, kindergarten, and preparatory.

“Special Learning has made a huge impact on the autism and special needs community in the United States. We’re very excited to bring that same level of dedication and support to our new center in the Philippines!” said Karen Chung, founder and chief executive officer of Special Learning Inc. “Our groundbreaking program is a true collaboration between education and behavior analytic principles and practices that focuses on building a child’s foundational skill set to prepare them for successful participation in the home, community and public school environments.”

The SPED Program at Fort Bonifacio will employ highly skilled US-based clinicians trained in the latest ABA techniques. In partnership with SBSA, a center-based treatment facility in the U.S., ABA Special Learning USA has transferred a team of expert Behavior Analysts and Behavior Therapists to lead the program.

Aside from its core services, the new center offers related services, including:
    Intensive Behavioral Intervention (IBI) Program
    Skills Assessments Service
    Individualized Treatment Plans
    Parent and Caregiver Training
    Special Accommodations for International Students

The SPED program accepts children ages two-years-old and up, and will open in August with open enrollment starting in July.
